Mountain Culture officially opened in 2019 and was founded by DJ and Harriet McCready. Mountain Culture is known for its high-quality beers and creative limited releases which are sold in clubs and pubs around Australia, including here at Springwood Sports Club!
Mountain Culture is a local to the Blue Mountains (hence, the name!). You can visit Mountain Culture at their Katoomba Brewpub or Emu Plains Taproom.
While we have loved every variety of Mountain Culture beer we have tried, here are our top picks:
Status Quo Pale Ale
Status Quo is a juicy New England Pale Ale. Made for hop lovers with massive late and dry hop additions, it’s full flavoured and more tropical than the Hawaiian ukulele orchestra with 5.2% ABV.
Fun fact about this beer: It was voted Australia’s #1 beer in the annual GABS Hottest 100 craft beer poll in 2023 for the second year running, beating 435 other beers nominated.
APL-Aussie Pale Lager
Brewed in the Mountains, easy to drink everywhere. Using pure Blue Mountains water and hand-selected Australian ingredients for the ultimate crisp, smooth and refreshing lager. 4% ABV.
Scenic Route – Session Hazy
New World hops give this beer a juicy, citrusy kick with the haze we all love, while a smooth mouthfeel gives way to a clean, dry finish. Scenic Route’s low-key ABV is perfect for when you want to slow down and take in the view. 4% ABV.
American Pale Ale
A full-flavoured ale, lemonier than Mr Snicket, so piney you could varnish it and crisper than pre-dawn mountain air. Basically, it goes down easier than a diving submarine with the hatch still open. 5% ABV.
We are proud to be one of the first places to put Mountain Culture on tap and we continue to pour Mountain Culture beers daily! If you are interested in learning more about Mountain Culture, CLICK HERE to view our interview with owner Harriet McCready.
